Acorn Group Invests in Future Technology Talent as Part of Long-Term Growth and Innovation Strategy
Published: March 2026

At the Acorn Group, we believe that people and technology are at the heart of future success, for our business, and for the customers and communities we serve.

As one of the UK’s leading specialist providers of non-standard insurance, we operate in a dynamic market that demands innovation, agility, and deep technical capability. To support our long-term strategy, we are proud to announce the latest intake of graduates into our Technology Graduate Programme: a key part of our commitment to developing home-grown talent and strengthening our technology capability across the business.

Acorn Group’s recent technology investment and graduate recruitment drive has been featured across leading insurance and specialist trade publications:

Growing Our Tech Capability to Power Strategic Priorities

The Acorn Group’s technology function plays a vital role in how we deliver exceptional service to our customers. From building customer-facing portals and intuitive platforms, to developing automation and AI-driven enhancements, technology underpins how we serve customers and specialist segments often underserved by standard insurers.

Our 18-month Graduate Programme offers recent graduates a structured pathway into permanent roles within Acorn’s technology teams, with specialisations that include Application Support, DevOps and Platform Engineering, Process Automation and AI. Across the programme, participants will gain real-world experience working on projects that drive operational excellence, improve customer journeys, and support future product innovation.

Selected from a competitive assessment process, this cohort will be based in our Liverpool tech hub, attracting digital talent that will play a central role in our innovation strategy.

Ian Truman, Chief Technology Officer at the Acorn Group, said:

“Our graduate scheme is designed to enable individuals to develop core technical skills and gain real-world experience, supporting their journey to becoming well-rounded experts in their fields and contributing to Acorn’s long-term growth. These graduates will play a vital role in enacting our initiatives as we continue to drive forward technological innovation in the insurance industry and champion the needs of the non-standard consumer.”

Supporting Our Customers Through Technology and Talent

This investment in talent comes at a time when the insurance industry is experiencing significant change, including evolving regulatory expectations and growing demand for modern, data-driven solutions. Building a strong internal technology capability enables the Acorn Group to respond more effectively to these challenges — improving underwriting accuracy, streamlining service operations, and enhancing digital experiences for customers.

Our approach recognises that technology and talent go hand-in-hand: we want skilled technologists who understand the Acorn Group’s purpose: to deliver specialist insurance solutions for our UK customer base. The tech team’s work directly contributes to making our processes more efficient, our products more competitive, and our customer outcomes better.

A Platform for Long-Term Career Growth

We are committed to nurturing careers as well as building capability. The graduate programme is one of several pathways we provide for early-career talent, alongside apprenticeships, internal development opportunities, and broader career progression frameworks across the Group.

At the Acorn Group, we don’t just offer jobs — we offer career-defining experiences where graduates can learn, lead and innovate in an environment that values curiosity, agility, and collaboration.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to invest in technology and people, our focus remains on creating long-term, sustainable growth for Acorn and delivering exceptional outcomes for the customers we serve. With this newest cohort of tech graduates joining us, we’re reinforcing our commitment to innovation, unlocking fresh perspectives, and building a foundation for future success.

Welcome to the next generation of Acorn technologists — we’re excited to see what we will build together.
