Acorn Group announces plans for new flagship workspace at Liverpool’s Atlantic Pavilion
Published: May 2026

Acorn Group has submitted plans to transform Atlantic Pavilion at Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock into a new flagship workspace, marking an exciting milestone in the Group’s continued growth and long-term commitment to the Liverpool City Region.

The proposed £10m investment will see the Grade I-listed waterfront building reimagined as a modern, high-performing workplace for more than 600 Acorn colleagues, while preserving the character and heritage of one of Liverpool’s most recognisable locations.

Acorn Group acquired the 80,000 sq ft Atlantic Pavilion in January 2025. Subject to planning approval, the Group plans to begin moving teams into the building from early 2027, creating a major new base for colleagues in the heart of the city’s historic docklands.

The plans include upgraded office space across the upper floors, enhanced meeting and collaboration areas, improved staff amenities, and a new central café and collaboration hub. A basement gym, shower facilities and wellbeing spaces are also proposed as part of the wider transformation.

The project is being developed with a strong focus on creating a workspace that supports Acorn’s culture, encourages collaboration, and provides an environment where colleagues can continue to thrive.

Daniel Keating, Chief Operating Officer at Acorn Group, said:

“Investing in this iconic landmark represents an exciting milestone for Acorn. We are a growing, ambitious and dynamic Merseyside-based business.

“As a major employer in the region, it’s vital to provide exceptional office space that supports our people while continuing our strong commitment to this great city we call home.

“By investing in Atlantic Pavilion, we’re embracing the history and character of the space while integrating Acorn’s modern working practices. It’s the perfect environment to inspire our people, nurture Acorn’s unique culture and drive ongoing success.”

Founded in Formby in 1982, Acorn Group has grown into one of the UK’s leading specialist insurance businesses, supporting more than 500,000 customers across its brands and employing more than 1,800 people. The Group’s continued investment in Liverpool reflects both its North West roots and its ambition to create high-quality, future-focused workplaces for its teams.

Atlantic Pavilion will become Acorn Group’s flagship location, complementing the Group’s existing offices across the region, including Mersey Chambers, 12 Hanover Street and The Lighthouse in Formby.

The building’s ground floor occupiers will continue to operate, with Acorn set to sub-let space to existing tenants.
